Ceramics
In Ceramics 1 students gain a basic understanding of how to work with clay.
Students learn fundamental construction methods including coil,
slab, and sculpting. Students also learn glazing techniques and how to express creative ideas in clay.
In Ceramics 2 students are introduced to the potter's wheel and more advanced surface decoration techniques. The focus shifts to combining building techniques for a more creative result. Cohesive, well built, and visually pleasing work is emphasized.
In Ceramics 3, students work through open-ended projects that allow students to determine their creative direction.
